Meet Kiana, one of our HopeKids, and her family. Kiana was first diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), a bleeding disorder where the immune system attacks the platelets needed for blood clotting. Since January of this year, she has also been navigating lupus, which has now become her biggest health challenge. Despite all this, she keeps a bright spirit. Her family helps, especially her little brother, her biggest supporter. Kiana and her family joined HopeKids in August 2024. Her mom told us, “HopeKids has helped our family experience more than we ever imagined. We usually can’t afford gas, tickets, and food, so this support lets our kids experience these opportunities.”
